This projects aims to provide an Ubuntu based standard desktop system for public administration. It offers integration into Active Directory based networks, desktop feature reduction and network based home directories.
Installing the BaWü-Linux is just a matter of installing custom packages over a standard Ubuntu installtion. A detailed description is available in the complete documentation (German only) of the client.

We noticed that Evolution was not able to log into an Exchange server with Umlauts in the username. To fix this, some changes were necessary to libsoup (a HTTP library) and evolution-data-server.
The BaWü-Client development was initiated by the city of Böblingen, Germany and carried out by ITOMIG, and is copyrighted by various authors.
